If you receive the following message in the Eno app status bar, it’s because the Eno app has been unable to establish a connection with your Enophone to read the sensor data.


This occurs when Enophone is properly paired and connected to your computer for Bluetooth audio, but is unable to establish a connection for transfering the sensor data.

Here are a few tips to repair this connection and get Enophone connected to the Eno app.

  1. Try restarting your Enophone, Eno app, and your computer

Bluetooth connection issues are sometimes unpredictable, and the easiest way to repair connection issues is often simply to restart both devices. Resetting your Enophones, Eno app, and computer will often solves any connection issues.  

  1. Download the latest version of the Eno app

With each new release, the Eno app’s Bluetooth connections get more robust. Downloading the latest version of the Eno app may remedy your issue.

  1. Ensure that your Enophone and computer are in range

Establishing a Bluetooth connection can sometimes fail if your devices are too far apart. Ensure that during the connection process, both devices are within 5m (15ft) of each other, and that there are no obstructions between them.

  1. Ensure the Enophone data API is not already in use

Enophone’s sensor data stream can only connect with one device at once. If a second version of the Eno app, or the Eno data API are in use, then the Eno app may struggle to establish a connection.

If you are attempting to run multiple versions of the Eno app, or running the Eno data API, ensure that you close the connection to Enophone, and restart the device, before attempting a new connection. Restarting your computer will also remove and stray processes that may interfere with new connections.

  1. Ensure your operating system is compatible

The Eno app is designed to work on MacOS 10.15 and later, as well as Windows 10 and 11. Using a more recent version of the operating system will often result in a more stable Bluetooth connection.

Note that MacOS Monterey 12.0 through 12.2 are not compatible with the Eno app, due to an issue with Apple’s Bluetooth API. Upgrading to MacOS 12.3 or beyond will remedy this problem and provide full support.

  1. Ensure that your Enophone's bluetooth ID is named "enophone"

Changing your Enophone's name may prevent the Eno app from locating the device. Unpairing and reconnecting Enophone from your computer will reset this.
